<p>Donor conception law is an emerging and complex area of law, in which  very few lawyers in the UK have specialist expertise.  This blog has  been created by the pioneers of fertility law in the UK, solicitors <a href="http://www.gambleandghevaert.com/page/Natalie-Gamble/49/" target="_blank">Natalie Gamble</a> and <a href="http://www.gambleandghevaert.com/page/Louisa-Ghevaert/50/" target="_blank">Louisa Ghevaert</a>, who have years of experience in  this area of law and run the UK’s only specialist fertility law firm (<a href="http://www.gambleandghevaert.com/">Gamble and Ghevaert LLP</a>).</p>
<p>Sperm donor law applies to lesbian couples, single women and heterosexual couples conceiving with donor sperm, as well as to sperm donors (including known donors and co-parents) and donor conceived people.  For those conceiving with a donor, donor conception law says who has legal and financial responsibility for their child, as well as the rights to information the child will have in later life.  The law is complex, and the rules are different according to the personal circumstances of those involved, and whether conception takes place at home, at a fertility clinic in the UK or at a fertility clinic abroad.</p>
